Dullah (1919- 1996) Dullah,a self made artist, was born in Solo in 1919. Since the early days of the independence, Dullah was very close to Soekarno, the first President of the Republic of Indonesia. He was therefore appointed by Soekarno to take care of all of the Presidents art possessions and at the same time as curator of the state painting collections. After no longer in charge of President Soekarno's art collections, Dullah spent most of his creative time in Bali together with a group of his pupils. At the age of 70, Dullah built his museum in Solo all by his own without any financial succour from the government or other private institutions.

I GustiNgurahGedePemecutan does not need a stamp to mark his painting masterpieces. He has hundreds of his fingerprints on all of them. For every fingerprint painting, Pemecutan has to start by painting the white canvas with dark-based colors such as green, blue or brown. Pemecutan recalled that he worked for 18 months to complete his largest 3 meter by 1.5 meter painting of PerangPuputanBadung (PuputanBadung War) in 2001, which may have only needed a week to finish off using the regular brush-and-paint technique.
Mohd Yatim Mohd Yatim
Moht Yatim Yatim started painting at a very tender age. His natural talents caught the attention of Dullah, (editor of President Sukarno ‘s palace painting collection & one of Indonesia’s most renowned artist). He stayed and learn painting under this grandmaster in Bali for 8 years. Dullah (1919 -1994) taught him everything he knew – techniques, use of colours, lighting effect, eye for details and composition. Dullah had many students but none as gifted as Yatim.
