The Hakone Open-Air Museum opened in 1969 as the first open-air art museum in Japan. The museum's collections include about 100 masterpieces of Rodin, Bourdelle, Miro, Henry Moore and others in the garden; and Brancusi, Morie Ogiwara, Boccioni, Lipchitz, Modigliani, Shin Hongo and others inside.

The Hakone Open-Air Museum opened in 1969 as the first open-air art museum in Japan, founded by Nobutaka Shikanai, retired president of Japan's largest communications conglomerate, the Fujisankei Group. The Museum is located in grand nature of Hakone that was once called one of the most rugged paths in Japan

Four allegorical figures - "La Victoire", "La Force", "La Liberté" and "l'Eloquence" part of the monument to Carlos María de Alvear in Buenos-Aires which Bourdelle was commissioned to execute in 1913.
