  1. Boomer Beach (Boomers), La Jolla, California, United States  Boomer Beach, also known as Boomers, is in La Jolla, featuring a rocky shoreline and a narrow sandy area beneath Ellen Browning Scripps Park's sandstone bluffs. The park above offers picnic tables, restrooms, benches, and showers. Though there are no lifeguards, an emergency phone box is available in summer. Dogs on leashes are allowed before 9 am and after 6 pm from April to October, and before 9 am and after 4 pm from November to March. Popular activities include sunbathing, wildlife watching, bodysurfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. The rough waves make swimming and surfing difficult and unsafe, with boogie boarding and surfing prohibited due to the marine reserve. Bodysurfing is allowed and common despite rough conditions. Boomer Beach is less crowded, ideal for a quiet experience. Nearby La Jolla Cove offers calmer waters for swimming. Ellen Browning Scripps Park is great for hiking, picnicking, and photography, with stunning ocean and shoreline views. Access to Boomer Beach is near 1160 Coast Boulevard. No stairways lead down, so visitors must scramble along the bluffs. Street parking on Coast Boulevard fills up quickly, so arrive early. Visit during low tide as the beach can be submerged at high tide. Nearby attractions include Legends Gallery, the La Jolla Recreation Center, and La Jolla Historical Society’s Wisteria Cottage Gallery. Restaurants like Manhattan of La Jolla, Puesto La Jolla, and Cafe Vahik offer various dining options. Hotels such as The Lodge at Torrey Pines, Hotel La Jolla, Empress Hotel La Jolla, and The Shoal La Jolla Beach provide accommodation options.
