Animal Control Contract Services Pound Services Holding Periods • Hold time for animals with no identification is 4 days, excluding the first day of impoundment. • Hold time for animals with identification (microchip, license, or collar w/tags) is 10 days and commences upon the following: • - Call is made to owner on record • - If no answer, letter is mailed to owner’s address • Once the stray holding period ends, animals are subject to health and temperament assessments before being transferred to the CCSPCA Adoption Center.
Animal Control Contract Services Pound Services Lost & Found • Our goal is to reunite pets with their owners as quickly as possible. • The following informational services are provided to the public: • - CCSPCA Website’s Lost Your Pet? page displays pictures of all impounded strays. • - Website page lists other shelters and places to search, as well as tips for finding lost pets. • - Binders and flyers of Lost & Found Pets are maintained in the Stray Department. Other places to search and tips for finding lost pets are also displayed.

Animal Control Contract Services Veterinary Care • Depending upon the extent of injuries, strays are either treated by our shelter medical team or taken to an offsite emergency veterinary clinic for care. • We have a contract with Veterinary Emergency Services (VES) to perform veterinary care after hours, weekends, and holidays. • Daily veterinary care is overseen by the shelter veterinarian on staff. • Treatment is given by the veterinarian and/or shelter veterinary assistants.
