    3. Welcome to the Davidic School of Ministry This is a ministry training college designed for students around the world. It is an intensive one year training program for front-line gospel workers. It assumes no theological training. This is a ministry training college, not a Bible college. That means it’s built for front line workers, no matter what field of endeavour they’re in. Mothers with kids, marketplace ministers or pastors in a new church can study. This is a ministry training college, not a Bible college. 4. We have tried to design a school based on the whole of life (Hebraic) not just one or two compartments (Grecian) We have also focused on the tree of life, not the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It is solid, orthodox and Bible based We’ve tried to design a school based on a Hebrew mind set – the whole of life is ministry, instead of a Greek world view where everything is compartmentalised. That means there is no sacred secular split. All we do we do for God. 5. This course can be taken by distance education, or run face to face if your local church has set it up that way. There are 12 “streams” of study, each containing 6-12 modules of work material. There are 132 modules altogether. Those streams include: Originally the school developed out of having weekend intensives Then we taught in Bible colleges, and now we are doing distance education. 7. Streams of study Marketplace Ministry Apostolic Reformation Pastors & Teachers Psalming/ worship Spiritual Warfare Spiritual Maturity

    8. What We Assume Basic biblical knowledge (you have read the Bible at least once right through). A basic education (up to grade ten). The ability to read English and complete a text book for each stream. An earnest desire to learn and grow!

    9. What your study will entail You will start by completing the “Discover Your Portfolio” stream. This will enable you to determine what your natural and spiritual gifts and callings are. It will help us focus on your strengths.

    10. What your study will entail Then you will start the “Overview Stream” which is made up of 9 modules. It is a study of the Heart of David which foreshadowed the heart of Christ. You will come to understand the purpose of God in our day and this generation.

    11. Each stream contains: 1) READING There is a text book for each stream. In this case it is: “The Tabernacle of David” by Kevin Conner. You are expected to read a chapter or two for each module, finishing the text by the end of the stream.

    12. Each stream contains: 1) READING There is a Bible reading program for each stream. It will guide you through the relevant passages for this study. Finally there are also course notes for this stream which you will need to read.

    14. Each stream contains: 2) ASSIGNMENT WORK Each module will be tested by a written assignment. In this case there are 9 modules for the Overview Stream, so there are 9 assignments. Some modules contain a practical exercise to complete also.

    16. Each stream contains: 3) ASSESSMENT Assessment for your study is competency based. We are trying to determine if you have obtained the key learning outcomes for the module. That you understand what is in it.

    17. Each stream contains: 3) ASSESSMENT Once you have completed all the reading, Bible study and assignments you will be graded for the stream. The grades run from High Distinction, Distinction, Credit, Pass or Fail. You must at least Pass a Stream to move on to the next one.

    19. How can we help you? Each student will be assigned a tutor. Your tutor will mark all your assignments using marking templates, which are standard across the world. You may ask them for guidance on the questions.

    20. How long will one stream take? The course has been designed to International standards. This means each 12 module stream will take the student 60 hours to complete. How long this actually takes you, will depend on how you are taking the course.

    21. A breakdown of workload… 15 hours of class attendance (or listening to CD’s/ watching DVD’s); 5 hours of Bible reading; 3 hours of course note reading; 12 hours of text book reading; 15 hours of study/ assignment prep; 10 hours of practical involvement.

    22. How long will the course take? The 132 module course will take 650 hours of study. Under a full time study load (at 6 hours per day, 5 days per week) that will take 22 weeks. But no one does it that quickly! Then why does it take a year?

    24. In a Training College... Because there are other things to do: Devotions (prayer) Practical work (gardening, cleaning) Class work (2/3 subjects a day) Rest (in the hot afternoon) Ministry work (counselling, evangelism)

    25. A day in Zambia or India… Devotions from 7-8am: 1 hr Physical work from 9-11am: 2 hrs Class work from 11-2pm: 2 hrs Ministry work (Mon, Wed, Fri) from 5-7pm: 2 hrs Reading & study (Tues, Thurs) from 5-8pm: 3 hrs.

    27. A full time load… Working 5 days a week, for 14 weeks a semester, over 3 semesters in the year (42 weeks) that equates to: Class work: 480hrs plus Study work: 288 hrs = 672hrs (only 650 are needed to qualify). Ministry work: 252 hrs Practical labour: 252 hrs

    28. Study at your own pace When students do distance education it works out the same. We suggest you attempt to complete 3 modules (15 hours of study) per week. One 12 module stream (60 hours of study) should take you 4 weeks. You will complete the course in 42 weeks (one year).

    29. A word of warning It takes discipline to study 15 hours per week There are a lot of distractions! The truth is that most students who self pace, actually only complete a 12 module stream every 2.5 months. At that pace it will take you 2 years!
