About Belstone… • Belstone are not vertically integrated, and so had to hand over some creative control to their distribution company Kaleidoscope. • So smaller independent film production companies often lose ownership over their films, and aren’t always totally happy with the way their movies are marketed to audiences. • Finn Bruce is good friends with Jamie Patterson, a film director.  Eventually they would go on to work together on Tucked, where Patterson wrote and directed. • Jamie Patterson is married to April Pearson, (star of Tank 432).  Finn was able to use his friendship with Jamie to have April Pearson as an actress for Tank 432, for a extremely low salary- reducing expense they have to spend for the movie

  5. Who owns the company? • Belstone is owed by FCB Production which is owned by Finn Cardigan Bruce • However Belstone is not vertically integrated so they cant distribute and sell their own film so they have a distributing company called Kaleidoscope

What is the advantage/disadvantage of a small institution • ADVANTAGE:Being a small company means that Belstone can be experimental in the work/projects as they don’t have the obligation to appeal to mainstream audiences or keep up reputation of a well known big conglomerate. • DISADVANTAGE: As they are a small company this means that they might not have funding that large companies have which could potentially impact negatively in the film and advertising
