  3. Session objectives • Overview of the sections in detail • Gain an understanding of what tools and resources are available • Navigate the sections and locate required information • Explain the site contents to others

  4. Governance • Content developed by Bradfield Nyland Group and Pamela Spall and Assoc specifically for organisations funded by department • Separate workshops being carried out by BNG • Resources available through Community Door and MSO • Designed for both trainers and organisations

  5. Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Many ethnic community associations and groups lack the knowledge and skills needed to function effectively to meet their desired goals. They have limited or no knowledge of the way groups must function in Australia in order to sustain themselves, to articulate their needs, to secure resources, and to participate generally in our democracy.

  6. Strengthening Ethnic Community Associations (SECA) Project • 3 year project managed by Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) • Long-term benefits are • a range of well managed, accountable and sustainable ethnic community associations and • organisations delivering improved services to their members. • This will have a significant and positive impact on the settlement and integration process for migrants into the Queensland community.
