  1. Fighting the Threat of Apnea - Looking For a Sleep Apnea Symptom Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder, where one may face interrupted breathing during sleep. When breathing gets stopped frequently, your brain and other parts of the body may not receive enough oxygen. Sleep apnea is quite distressing and the best way to save yourself from sleep apnea is to understand the symptoms of it. If not treated, the condition can potentially become life-threatening. Sleep apnea not only exhausts your body and retards the bodily functions, but also leads to serious conditions like heart disease, stroke, gastroesophageal disease, etc., Sleep apnea can be distinguished into three types. It is Obstructive sleep apnea when there is a collapse of muscle in the air passage or if the tissues block the passage preventing the entry of air. When the brain does not send the signal to enable breathing, it is said to be Central sleep apnea. The third type of apnea is a combination of both.

People who suffer from high blood pressure are at risk of getting affected by sleep apnea.
