  4. 1. TIMOTHY 6:9-10 • “Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”NIV

  5. FACTS ABOUT MONEY • Many is not evil and does not bring evil. • Money is an amplifier, it amplifies what you already are. • If there is sin in your life, money will amplify it.

  8. CHARACTERISTICS OF LOVERS OF MONEY 1. They are never satisfied. Ecc. 5:10 • “Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless.” (Ecclesiastes 5:10)

  9. 2. They worship money. Mathew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

  10. 3. They are greedy and Materialistic. Isaiah 56:11 • They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, they seek their own gain.

  11. 4. They are selfish. 2 Timothy 3:2 • “People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,” (NIV)

  12. BELIEVERS ATTITUDE TOWARDS MONEY. • Do not be in hurry to get rich. Proverbs 21: 5

  13. Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty. (NLT)

  14. Follow God’s principles. • Seek God’s kingdom first • Do not work for riches but work for God’s purpose

  15. 2. Be faithful. Proverbs 28:20 • “A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.” (NIV)

  16. 3. Eat the labor of your hands • Psalms 128:2 • “For you shall surely eat the labor of your hands; you shall be happy, and all is well with you.” • ( MKJV)

  17. 4. Be content with whatyour have. Hebrew 13:5-6

  18. “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.“(NIV)

  20. We have to repent.Micah 3:11 • Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they look for the LORD's support and say, "Is not the LORD among us? No disaster will come upon us.“(NIV)

  21. Conclusion • Be faithful to God in every area of your life. • Follow God’s principles as you pursue riches • Let us pray
