Thesis There was a dramatic change in women’s fashion in the 1920’s compared to the past decades.
What Are Flappers? • The term was first used in Great Britain after WWI, but quickly spread to other countries • A flapper was a young girl who had not entered womanhood • She wore short skirts and dresses and bobbed hair style
Men’s Fashion • Men’s fashion had little change in the twenties compared to women’s fashion • Suits were still similar to suits of the past, but they were lighter and brighter • Some changes did occur such as wearing more baggy clothes
Women’s Fashion • Before this time women’s clothing showing off skin was nonexistent • Nude appearance • See through clothing • Shorter dresses and skirts showing off part of knee
Women’s Fashion • Bathing suits start becoming popular for tanning purposes • Colorful clothing • Handbags and jewelry more popular than ever • Underwear became smaller and more flexible
