Genre Strider is realistic fiction because it could, but it does not. Realistic means that it can happen.
Point of View In the story Leigh is the one telling the story. It is first person point of view, because Leigh is writing in his diary and telling it himself.

Science Connection • I researched dogs like Strider and found out that his breed is an Australian Dingo. • A dingo’s habitat ranges from deserts to grasslands and the edge of forests. • Dingo’s are carnivorous animals and have a very diverse diet ranging from water buffalo to insects. They are opportunist feeders and are known to hunt anything including fouls, wallabies, geese, lizards, kangaroos, hares and small rodents such as mice and rats. • Being a canine, the dingo has wolf-like characteristics. It is a carnivore that generally lives and hunts in packs. Dingoes adapt by growing thick coats in cooler regions, and thinner coats in warmer regions of Australia. Dingoes also have a sandy-ginger coat to blend in with their surroundings.

Text- to-self-connections Leigh found a stray dog and one of my dogs was found in the dumpster. He’s still alive. He sometimes has problems with his back were he can’t walk with his back legs. We have to take him to the vet in Athens when it happen. He is 7 years old.(48 in dog years) Its kind of like how Leigh found strider. That’s my Text-To-Self-Connection. Thomas Leigh got mad when he saw his bad grade, and when he got home he said mean things to Barry, so Barry got mad and said that he was not his best friend anymore. When I see my bad I get mad at myself because I don’t like bad grades. Sometimes I hit people in accidents. rommel
