childhood • She spent her time on a farm called Yamhill,Oregon. • Her town did not have a library so her mom made an agreement with the state library to send books to her town. • Beverly Cleary started to read books with the help of her mother. • Beverly Cleary’s family moved to Portland, Oregon when she was old enough to go to school.
School days • When Beverly Cleary entered school she had trouble reading books. • She worked hard to improve her reading and finally in third grade she became an excellent reader • She spent a lot of time in the library.
Education • In 1934,Beverly Cleary moved to California and attended college. • She graduated from junior college in Ontario, California. • She also earned a degree in Library Science from University of Washington in Seattle.
