Where can I create art safely at MICA? When can I access the studios when class is not in session to do homework? What are the activities I can perform safely in the studios?

Sun. 12 pm-7:30 pm, Mon. 10 am-12:30 am, Tues. 10 am-10 pm, Wed. 9-5 pm & 7 am-12 am, Thurs. 9 am-8:30 pm, Fri. 9 am-9 pm, Sat. 10 am-8 pm Abrasive blasting, metal grinding & polishing , outside torching and heating guns, powered carving & chipping of stone/cement- train platform, ceramic shell mold making- (silica) shell room, wax melting- wax room, metal melting and casting- foundry, paint removal- spray booths, welding & metal work, soldering metal shop, aerosol spraying -spray booth, arts acrylic airbrushing- any studio, power spraying- spray booth, metals, arts plastic resin casing- resin room, wood work   Students who have taken intro to sculpture or metal fabrication/casting procedures, and currently enrolled in those classes 1st Floor Metal Shop

Open during Fox building hours: 7am-2am M-F and 8am-3am Sat. and Sundays) (24 hours at the end of the semester) Closed Fridays 3:30-5:30pm for regular cleaning Clay dry mixing- clay room, loading, firing, unloading- kiln room , spray glaze- spray booth, throwing & hand building -main studio, atmospheric firing techniques -Buddha area, casting & slip mixing- casting area, glazing mixing, dry chemicals- glaze area, chemical storage/inventory- supply closet Students currently enrolled in a Ceramics class (work-study only in the supply closet) Lower-level

Wednesday 12:30 PM - 6:30 PM, Thursday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Friday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM During Shop Hours, you must check in with the Shop Tech on duty before using any tools or equipment in the shop. The Shops are open to all MICA students. Fourth Floor, F405 Be sure to come to the shop with ample time to set up your work, receive assistance, complete your work, and clean up.
