  3. Simple Predicate • The simple predicate is the main verbin the predicate. • The simple predicate is always a verb.

  5. Complete subject The complete subject includes the main noun (who or what the sentence is about) and the other words that describe the subject. Example: The tired girl is taking a nap. “The tired girl” is the complete subject.

  6. Complete predicate The complete predicate includes the main verb and all the words that follow. Example: The tired girl is taking a nap. “is taking a nap” is the complete predicate.
