Phase 1 a(New Recruit No Certifications) Recruit Curriculum Course Info • EMR • Policies and Procedures • Must have 12 hours station time per week. Time spent on modules and station duties. • 2 additional T-shirts, pager. • The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) must demonstrate competency in handling emergencies utilizing all Basic Life Support equipment and skills in accordance with all behavioral objectives in the DOT/First Responder curriculum
Phase 1b SFFMA introductory Course info • Introductory module • NIMS 100. • The program covers all necessary curriculum requirements of the SFFMA under Module 1 introductory. • Prerequisites: complete emr • Module 1: Firefighter Introductory • The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) must demonstrate competency in handling emergencies utilizing all Basic Life Support equipment and skills in accordance with all behavioral objectives in the DOT/First Responder curriculum
Phase 1 (New recruit) With a Fire or EMS Certification. • 3 months to complete EMR or SFFMA Introductory • Class B License within 6 months • Policies and Procedures • NIMS 100 • EMS Pass Protocol Test • 16 hours station Coverage per week (assignable to truck) • This program covers all necessary curriculum requirements of the State Firemen’s & Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas (SFFMA) under Module 1: Firefighter Introductory.
Congratulation • You have now meet the minimum requirements to respond on all fire and medical calls • Eligible for points $$$$$ • No longer a recruit/ start probationary phase
Phase II • SFFMA Basic Firefighter 1 • Enrollment- 6 months to complete • Eligible for points for 6 months • NIMS 500 • 16 hours per week station coverage • The program covers all necessary curriculum requirements of the SFFMA under Module 2: Firefighter I (Basic) and Module 3: Firefighter I • Prerequisites: • Module 2: Firefighter 1 (Basic)
Phase III • Enrolled SFFMA FF 1 Complete • NIMS 900 • 16 hours per week station coverage. • Must be Completed in 6 months to continue points accumulation. • ineligible for points after 6 months
Phase II • Firefighter II • Six months to complete • Must be Completed in 6 months to continue points accumulation. • 16 hours per week station coverage
