  3. THE PLAN • For approximately 400 ft Dingmans Creek had been flowing against the left valley wall (estimated height 100 ft). The amount of fine sediment delivered to the stream was monumental. • This project is designed to increase roughness on the left bank floodplain using Large Woody Debris (LWD) & vegetation. This increased roughness would decrease the likelihood of the stream jumping back (avulsion) into the former channel. • Plantings of 20+ species of trees & shrubs on both banks will result in a continuous riparian corridor on both sides of the stream & will increase bank stability.
