What do I need to know? • To find the information efficiently, you must ask the right question. • A good clinical question has 4 elements (PICO): • P-Patient • I-Intervention • C-Comparison • O-Outcome
How do I do this search quickly & efficiently? • Choices: • Key word (how I talk) • Thesaurus (specific language) • Combine words or phrases • Use and, or, not • Called Boolean operators but all they do is combine or not combine words. • Next slide shows a search for asthma and obesity
