Key aspects for successful project management 1. Team building 2. Explain the project to all project members and other stakeholders 3. Respect for Plans and Deadlines 4. Decision making process 5. Ask for help when you are in need 6. Achieve mutual respect and understanding
Team building - Enthusiastic and committed people with a belief in the project goals and milestones - Professional and good language skills - Punctual and responsible - Task distribution - Focus on young people: PhD students and researchers
Explain the project to all project members and others as well - Clarity is power - Explain the project goals and milestones /plans of activities to all – project teams and other stakeholders – well and in plain language - Retrieve as many questions as possible from all and answer them explicitly - Be explicit with the program guidelines and rules, e.g. project budget headings (staff, travel, equipment, other costs), co-financing issues
Establish Respect for Plans and Deadlines - Clear plans of project activities - Periodic reviews of plans and achieved results - Flexibility in the project plans - Quality Control reports - Periodic project meetings
Decision making process • - Consensus on decision making procedures across partners • - Efficient and fast decisions to be taken wherever and whenever necessary/feasible • - Fast and responsible decisions of project coordinators • - Essential points and small details
Ask for help when you are in need • 1. Discuss problems • 2. Ask for help (partners, NEOs, National Erasmus+ Agencies, EACEA) • 3. Read all guidelines
Achieve mutual respect and understanding - Communications - Discussions - Respect for all ideas and proposals - Cultural diversity and local specifics
