  2. INTRODUCTION Most of the people thought that only women have to consider ageing factors that affect their fertility chance and men are competent on becoming a father at any age. The misconception is that men could become a father even in their sixties or older.

  3. As men above age 40 tend to produce similar number of sperm but the quality of sperm may vary that will affect fertility. The testosterone level and libido reduce and thus causes less likelihood in regular sex that may affect pregnancy. Age factor may or may not create fertility issue. If both partners have the age of 25 then it takes 5 months to get conceive.

  4. Genetic reasons • The old father above the age of 40 may develop a certain genetic issue in their baby. • The risk of Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, type 1 diabetes and schizophrenia are caused to the baby who has a father above the age of 45.   • Even though there is high risk, it also includes other factors like lifestyle, partner medical history, food habits, family medical history etc.

  5. CONCLUSION The genetic factors may cause if your partner is older, an age gap of 5years or more. Other things you have to follow to protect your fertility are having a healthy diet, doing regular exercise, in taking food that has larger content of antioxidant food.
