  2. Simulation of InfoMobile Service

  3. 1. Overview 2. Problem Definition 3. Approach 4. Deliverables 5. References Contents Company Logo

  4. Overview • What is InfoMobility ? Fixed/Mobile Communications + Navigation Positioning + Efficient Transmission + Delivery over the network + Geo-Information • Why InfoMobility ? Location-aware information, Real-time alert of critical events(car accidents, train delays etc, road construction, traffic delays). Disadvantage of Navigation Systems – Prior Data uploaded. No up-to-date maps. (Frequent Update ->Costly) Company Logo

  5. Problem Definition • Proposal of a distributed model for infomobility that supports bidirectional, real-time information exchange to allow highly interactive and collaborative services • To provide accurate, real time traffic information Company Logo

  6. Main Idea Current Solution Earlier Solution HD Traffic - anonymous data - high reliability and accurate data RDS-TMC - Coded into Alert C protocol - No subscription cost - Poor or out of date data Traffic(GPRS,EDGE) - Subscription cost - Compatibility issues Company Logo

  7. Main Idea • How cell based networks work … • Privacy Issue • Anonymous location based queries in the system. Company Logo

  8. Approach • Central System Holding Real-Time Traffic Information • Towers Manages and stores Geo-referenced data concerning to its cell-map • Cell Maps Coverage of each tower • Mobile User Bi-directional information flow of data Company Logo

  9. Approach Company Logo

  10. Deliverables • To address this issue we aim at: • Simulating HD Traffic • Cell phone towers • Mobile users with moving cars • Central Base Station • Traffic Information Exchange Company Logo
