What to do? • Log in to the computers • Open up Microsoft word. • Read the start of the story. • Finish the story (it is started below) “Ze plan izseemple!” screeched the evil Dr. Schmuck. “Ze plan iz to blow up zees bank, und steel all of ze money! Hmmm... yah, yah, I am breeelliant! I will be an evil genius.” Dr. Schmuck’s wicked laugh bounced off the walls of the evil Schmuck hideout. His gang looked at each other nervously. Last time he had laughed like a maniac, he had accidentally fired his gun, shooting Louie the Lips Moran. Louie’s leg was still in plaster. This time, however, his gun was safely placed in its holster. “But byoss, how’re we gonna do ut?” Bad-Boy-Billy the Bouncer stammered.

  3. After you have drafted your stories, Things to work on... • Carry on the interesting dialogue.Notice how Mr. Edgecombe’s story has INTERESTING DIALOGUE. When the characters are talking, he has tried hard to re-create their accents, and way of talking. Can you carry that on? • The story should escalate. Start with LITTLE things (hero fights 1 person) and escalate things (hero fights 10 people • The story should be accurate. • Check your spelling using the spell check. • Swap stories with a friend, and get them to check over to make sure that you are spelling everything correctly. • Use full stops and commas in your story. • When someone is talking, put their speech in speech marks. • Do they use PARAGRAPHS? If not, your story SHOULD have paragraph breaks in it.
