Low Vision Rehabilitation (Ridgevue Publishing) The plan for this Low Vision Rehabilitation ebook was suggested at the 2015 meeting of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) Low Vision Educators Special Interest Group. These educators represent all the schools and colleges of optometry in North America. They agreed that teaching the curriculum is challenging when all textbooks on the subject of low vision rehabilitation are out of print. The time was right for an updated resource in a new iBook format for our students and graduates. In 2010, the ASCO low vision educators published in the journal Optometric Education a paper titled: The Development of Entry-Level Low Vision Rehabilitation Competencies in Optometric Education. This manuscript served as the foundation for a standardization of curriculum across the optometry schools and became the chapter headings of the new iBook. ASCO low vision educators and recruited low vision doctors co-authored select chapters. This book reflects the breadth and depth of the authors8217 extensive knowledge.
