Our mission is to match donor and service provider communities to build a stronger, more resilient Puerto Rico.
Our Organizational Structure Our team provides an array of tailored solutions through a collaborative approach. SERVICE PROVIDERS UNITWorks with nonprofits and other service organizations to support the identification of priorities, unmet needs, challenges, and strategies. RESOURCE IDENTIFICATION UNITResearches funding, technical assistance, capacity building, and other key community unmet needs; and pairs them with appropriate and accessible resources PHILANTHROPIC ALLIANCES UNITSupports and facilitates donor efforts for targeted investment in Puerto Rico's recovery by strengthening dialogue and collaboration among elements on the island, the U.S. mainland and globally.
Philanthropy’s Role in Puerto Rico’s Recovery Philanthropy can contribute to Puerto Rico’s long-term recovery Philanthropic resources can help close the gap between federal funding and the needs identified in the Governor’s Recovery Plan Sector-based approach to long term recovery provides opportunities for philanthropic organizations to take part in solutions based teams
Ongoing Opportunities ENERGY NATURAL AND CULTURAL RESOURCES HOUSING AGRICULTURE/ MANGROVE/ WILDLIFE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT • Dune restoration • Road and coastal erosion • Cultural sites restoration • Workforce development initiatives/training • Apprenticeships, innovation economy, business incubators • Economic Zones and Development Districts • Healthy homes: Mold removal, asbestos remediation, and lead removal • ADA compliance for the elderly and those with access and functional needs • Direct agricultural investment • Local food production, processing and distribution • 100% solar or micro-grids for mountain and island communities • Power-independent hospitals and schools • Installation of green-incinerators for energy production and waste-management
