Interoperable Fare Management System (IFMS) Part 1: Architecture • Lead by CEN/TC278 WG3 • Collaborate with ISO/TC204 WG8 (U.S. – Voting Member) • Countries participated: • China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, U.K., U.S.
IFMS Part 1: Architecture - Objective • To define a reference functional architecture for IFMS and to identify the requirements that are relevant to ensure interoperability between several actors in the context of the use of electronic tickets • The IFMS includes all the functions involved in the fare management process such as: • Management of Application • Management of Products • Security Management • Certification, Registration and Identification

IFMS Part 1: Architecture - Progress to Date • Voted on New Work Item Under ISO/TC 204 – Approved on August 1, 2005 • ISO/DIS (Draft International Standard) 24014-1 • Voting began – August 4, 2005 • Voting Ends – January 4, 2006
IFMS Part 2: Messaging (Under discussion) • Objective: To provide messages and interfaces between entities of the IFMSA as described in Part 1 • Contribution by France and Germany • US to contribute to IFMS Part 2 based on the UTFS Financial Management Committee – Work Package 4 development
