Course Schedule CPP CMC
Course Schedule (cont.) CPP CMC • CMC Weapons Handling taught using EDIP. • Stance taught before Weapons Handling in • CMC to reinforce stance throughout that EDIP.
Course Schedule (cont.) CPP CMC • CMC Corrective Action includes user serviceability inspection. • Ties to shooter-induced stoppages and mechanical failure of pistol. • Shows CMC why stoppage occurred and what to look for and how to teach shooter how to avoid stoppages.
Course Schedule (cont.) CPP CMC
EDIP • Weapons instruction taught EDIP: • (E) Explain - Instructor explains procedure. • (D) Demonstrate – Instructor demonstrates procedure. • (I) Imitate – Students mirror instructor as each step is demonstrated. • (P) Practice – Students practice procedures under instructor’s direction and supervision. • EDIP suited to procedural skills like weapons handling, reloads, etc.

Wearing of Gear • New holster • CPP covers wearing of gear to facilitate weapons handling and marksmanship.
Ready ELP CPP • Eyes oriented over front sight toward threat area. • Facilitates faster presentation by punching forward while rolling rear sight up to achieve sight picture.

Stance ELP CPP Isosceles Weaver Isosceles
Fundamentals • The fundamentals are the same in ELP as in CPP. • Coaching techniques are augmented and explained further in CPP.
Sight Picture • CPP fires on a different target (MPMS-1) so sight picture is different. • This target design reduces anticipation and related shooting problems. • Target is combat realistic.
Weapons Commands ELP CPP • Load • Make Ready • Unload • Unload, Show Clear • Make a Condition 3 Weapon • Make a Condition 1 Weapon • Make a Condition 4 Weapon • Show Clear
Changes in Weapons Handling ELP CPP • Lower workspace • Chamber check • Higher workspace • Determining the condition of the weapon • Determining condition of weapon is done whenever deemed necessary; after fight is over, prior to holstering. • Repetition is built into CPP live fire to train procedures for determining the condition of the weapon. • Higher workspace allows: • Eyes to remain on threat. • Movement with weapon.
CPP Position Analysis • Detailed position analysis. • Grip • Wrists • Arms • Body position • Head • Fault check stability of hold via Observation Method and Laser Pen Method.
Dry Practice • MTC CMT’s provide EDIP Instruction • Scripts for EDIP Instruction provided in student binder • T3 Students practice in groups. • Final Evaluation (Thursday) after ISMT
