Evolving CBRN Requirement • The goal is to provide the Warfighter a revolutionary IPE solution that will: • Reduce thermal burden • Lighten the individual Warfighter’s load • Reduce the logistical burden for the unit • Be interoperable with communications and weapons systems • Be fully integrated into the combat uniform • Need for low cost, durable, FR materials • Need for closures • Improvements or alternatives to hook and loop, slide fasteners, zip lock seals (for example) • Consideration toward cost, weight, flexibility, ease of use
