We use Pre-renders when we want to show the customer our work in progress or animation final approval on timings. Pre-renders are grey colour, this is because it is a quick preview of the timings and camera movement for that particular shot, offering a realistic idea on what will be the final face of the animation, whilst running in real time.
The advantages of a pre-render is that it produces a faster output which saves on time and costs both sides. If changes are required the artist is proficient to modify these relatively swiftly, from this, we are able to export a new one in the same day permitting the client and stakeholders to review and feedback again.
