SCHEINBERG RELIEF FUND PAGE | 02 SCHEINBERG FUND The Scheinberg Relief Fund was established, with an allocation of US$50M, by businessman and philanthropist Mark Scheinberg, together with his family, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our mission is to provide strategic, high impact relief for individuals and communities in locations where the family has a personal or business presence. As well as reducing the short-term impact of the virus, we’re also seeking to build a lasting legacy in the communities and initiatives that we are giving to, by providing funding for longer-term projects to secure a longer term impact.

SCHEINBERG RELIEF FUND PAGE | 03 FUNDACIÓN TOMILLO Fundación Tomillo works with vulnerable children, youth and families, to provide them with the necessary tools to allow them to take responsibility for their lives and facilitate their social integration. At Tomillo they are convinced that educational equity is one of the fundamental levers for the reduction of poverty and social inequality. Support provided by the Scheinberg Relief Fund is providing monthly supermarket vouchers to over 450 families who are affected by the economic impact of COVID-19.

SCHEINBERG RELIEF FUND PAGE | 03 MAIL FORCE CHARITY Mail Force Charity was launched with one aim, to help support NHS staff, volunteers and Care workers with essential protective equipment to protect them against COVID-19 while they perform their fantastic and vital work. Mail Force is an independent charity established and supported by the Daily Mail and General Trust. Support from the Scheinberg foundation has been directed to Mail Force’s ambitious programme of support to some of Britain’s best-known charities. The funds have enabled Mail Force to purchase 1 million Type IIR surgical masks, which have been donated to charities including Mencap and the Salvation Army.

SCHEINBERG RELIEF FUND PAGE | 03 TORONTO ANIMAL SERVICES (TAS) Toronto Animal Services (TAS) is the largest municipal animal service in Canada, operating 3 animal shelters, 2 stationary neutering clinics, 1 mobile neutering clinic, a rescue and response unit and an animal adoption programme. Funding from the Scheinberg Relief Fund is ensuring the continuity of the ‘COVID-19 Aid for Pets Program’ through the winter. The funds will enable TAS to provide support to approximately 1,225 pet owner who will have the peace of mind of knowing their pets will receive enough appropriate pet food and supplies to see them through the winter, thus significantly reducing the risk of animal abandonment as a direct result of economic hardship caused by COVID-19.
