  3. The Problem • Narco corridos primarily affect the Mexican-American in minority neighborhoods • Narco corridos are promoting - Drug use - Success - Heroism

  4. Drug use Narcocorridos are influencing drug use on Mexican-American adolescent's

  5. Success “heroic conduct especially as exhibited in fulfilling a high purpose” (Merriam Webster Dictionary). Drug trafficking the only way to get out of poverty

  6. Heroism “favorable or desired outcome; also: the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence” (Merriam Webster Dictionary). Drug lords are seen as heroes Drug lords have a macho figure that most Mexican adolecents aspire

  7. How can we can accomplish this • Hold meeting throughout Los Angeles county in public high school auditoriums With the help of - Parents - Community - Listeners

  8. Will it work? /expected results Raise awareness Inform the parents of young listeners Invite parents to join the movement

  9. Conclusion If it goes well with the rally’s then more rally’s will be held around other parts like Arizona and Texas where the genre tends to be popular.
