Background/Aim • 2009: The Crimescene behavior unit is formed • 2010: Project Crimescene behavior 2010 is launched • Aim: To describe crime scene behavior and offender caracteristics among mentally disorded violent offenders • Question: In what way are CSB possible to use as predictors to the juridical concept severe mental disorder
Metod Consecutive case study including all cases of ”violent” crimes during 2010 at the Stockholm branch. 199 cases, later reduced to 164 cases. • All cases were reviewed by one of three assessors as a part of the ongoing work to increase quality in the assessment work
Crimes in Sweden • 1 400 000 crimes reported of which 111 000 violent crimes • 110 000 –130 000 sentenced • 14 000 goes to prison • 550 undergo FPE, 250assessed as having aSEVERE MENTAL DISORDER and sentenced to forensic psychiatric care
Final sample • 199 cases turns into a final sample of 164
Diagnosis • Severe mental disorder • Male 42% • Female 58% • Total 44%
