Important Terms of the Unit: • Spatial Agreement: The signing space in front of you and things in your environment to setup things you are signing about. • Spatial referencing/indexing:your signing space by pointing with your fingers • Signer’s perspective:the signer’s point of view or how the signer visualizes things while he/she is signing.
How to sign “Far Away” • 1. Tilt head (in agreement with the direction) • 2. squint eyes • 3. open mouth slightly • 4. Trace route: extend arm fully
How to sign “Moderate Distance” • 1. tilt head (in agreement with direction) • 2. pursue lips slightly • 3. trace route: extend arm moderately
How to sign “very near/close” • Tilt head (in agreement with the direction) • “cs” behavior- • Trace route: keep hand close to body (do not extend arm)
