AiDA – Accessible Information on Development Activities • A common access point to information on projects and programs found in web sites and online databases of development organizations • Provides overview ofwho is doing what, where plus links to information on results • Over 400,000 historical and current records of activities shared by 21 sources and growing
Problems addressed by AiDA • Many sources of development activity information exist but hard to find or not accessible online • Online data can be structured or unstructured, in different formats and difficult to use to get picture of who are funding and implementing activities • Timeliness and uncertain quality of information now available – need to reconcile conflicting information High transaction costs of finding and using information -- manual sorting and integration of information required for analysis
