  4. Compound Inequality • Consist of a pair of inequalities joined by and or or. • Examples: • -1 < x and x < 3, or could be wrote as -1< x < 3 • x < -1 or x > 3

  5. Ex 2: Compound Inequality Containing And • Graph and Check the solution of • 3x – 1 > -28 and 2x + 7 < 19 • Graph and Check the solution of • -5 ≤ 2x – 1 < 3

  6. Ex 3: Compound Inequality containing Or • Graph and Check the solution of • 4x – 2 > 14 or 3x – 4 < - 13 • Graph and Check the solution of • 3x + 9 < - 3 or -2x + 1 < 5

  7. Ex 4: Dirty Jobs • Between 15,000 yd3 and 16,000 yd3 of earth must be trucked away from a construction site. The trucks can remove 1000 yd3 per day, and 10,500 yd3 has already been removed. How many days are needed?
