  2. Task • I have been asked to do five reviews on any given subject. I chose to review the camera apps that available for the iphone. The five I chose were instagram, 3d camera, instaeffects, manga merger and the power camera.

  3. Criteria • I will rate them on usability, the different functions, the price, and the picture quality. This is the icon I will use to rate the apps. • The usability is how easy the app is to use, so if it is user friendly it will get a higher rating however if it is complicated and hard to use it will be lowered. • The functions can be anything from different effects to recording ability, so the more they have to higher the rating will be. • The price is also a factor, the cheaper it is the higher the rating will be. • The camera is 8 megapixels and this criteria determines whether the different functions obscure the image and make it blurry or leave it clear.

Default camera • This image was taken on the iPhones default camera and is just standard image. • Usability-This camera is simple and straight forward to use. • Functions-The functions are basic and not very creative. • Quality-The camera uses 8 megapixels • Price-The camera is already installed on the phone. • Rating:

Instagram • This image was taken on instagram and given the effect of • Functions-The main functions are the ability to take photos, upload them to social networking sites instantly e.g. Facebook and the ability to add different effects, there is a total of 19 different types. • Usability-It is straight forward and easy to use, as well as been user friendly, even when someone is new to the app they will pick it up straightaway. • Quality-The camera quality is 8 megapixels and when the effects are added no focus is lost. • Price-Free • Rating:

  6. 3D Camera • This camera takes two photos of the same object so the user can get a 3D image on the screen. • Functions-The functions of this camera are the ability to make 3D images and display them in 4 different ways. • Usability-The usability can be difficult on this camera, two photos have to be taken and if not lined up properly it will fail. • Quality-The camera uses 8 megapixels but when the two images are lined up quality can be lost. • Price-£1.49 • Rating:

Instaeffects • This camera has the ability to take a photo and add a number of effects that overlay the image. • Functions-The main function of this camera is the effects they can use, there is 71 different types and these images can be saved to the library of the phone. • Usability-The usability is simple, once the photo is taken the effect can be added, all of the effects are in one place and use a scrolling meter to adjust the thickness of the chosen theme. • Quality-The camera uses 8 megapixels and when the effects are added the images stay sharp and clear with out loosing any quality, the effects can be put on thick or light which will hinder the view of the photo. • Price-Free • Rating:

Manga Merger • This camera has the ability to take a photo and give it a manga effect. • Functions-The functions of this camera are to give the photo a complete make over changing every thing by givingit a cartoon/manga effect. • Usability-The usability is simple, the effect is chosen and the photo is taken, then the photo gets changed to a manga image. • Quality-The camera uses 8 megapixels and when the images is captured it is completely modified in to a manga image which is animated so it looses some quality. • Price-Free • Rating:

Power Camera • This camera can take photos as well as record videos with a number of different effects. • Functions-Photos can be taken and 60+ effects can be added, when photos are finished they can be saved in a gallery, edited at any time, and collages can be made. When videos are been recorded they can also use the effects to make unique videos. • Usability-The whole app is easy and simple to use, the video and camera are both user friendly. • Quality-The camera uses 8 megapixels but when effects are added some quality is lost, the edges become less refined and blurring can happen. • Price-Free • Rating:
