The pyrazoline nucleus is a ubiquitous feature of various therapeutically active compounds.They were reported to possess antimicrobial, antidiabetic, anticancer, antiHIV, antiamoebic, anthelmintic, anticonvulsant and tranquilizing activities. Therefore an attempt is made to synthesize novel pyrazolines from chalcones. All these synthesized compounds were characterized by means of their IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and mass spectral data. These compounds were evaluated for antimicrobial activity by cup plate method.
