NTA to implement separate papers for JEE & NEET
A few days before, there was news from the Ministry of HRD of India about conducting competitive exams like JEE, NEET, UGC-NET etc. twice a year. This news was perceived as equally shocking as well as good news for some students and coaching classes. Just a day before, CBSE, who used to earlier conduct this examination, has successfully tested encryption-based papers that give some security to students and protect them from paper leakages. This back-to-back news surely indicates a radical change taking place in the Indian education system. National Testing Agency (NTA) as a constitutional body will be implementing a separate examination paper for JEE (Main) UG and NEET aspirants which will comprise unique questions for each candidate. Additionally, a student can choose their own set of dates for appearing for certain exams. The major objective of NTA is to implement technological inventions in the Indian education system that comprise the use of AI (artificial intelligence), psychometric testing and others, thus preceding the movement of ‘Digital India’ and making the educational system in a more digitised format. However, students might be a bit worried that it should not increase the competition but that appropriate measures are taken place. Vineet Joshi of NTA said, “Implementing encryption will help us to make the examinations much secure and safe; hence, there will be less number of paper leakage rumours. This move will help to achieve the goal of convenience.” One of the officials from the Ministry of HRD explained that the exams will be based on the difficulty level of previous years’ question papers with questions relevant for future examinations. One of the sources added that students should refer to Important MCQs by the thousands if they need to prepare for these competitive examinations. Additionally, they can attempt any question if they are not sure during the first attempt. They can click on ‘Review later’ and access their answer any time during the examination.
