Alandur is the nodal point where traffic from GST, Guindy and Koyambedu converge. The region has shot to public attention with the recent addition of the metro rail service. Real estate companies have long since been observing the ups and downs of Alandur. A decade back, Alandur was a sleepy outskirt of Chennai. It was located just outside the border of the Chennai city limit and hence was a location that did not receive much attention as such.
