Retrofit Untreated City Properties • Pre ’80’s Facilities: • Schools • Rec Centers • Libraries • Methods of Retrofit: • Manufactured BMP’s • Establish Marshes at Outfalls • Traditional Practices if Possible
Enhance Treatment in Local Lakes Aeration
Partner with The Army Corps Of Engineers • Lynnhaven River Environmental Restoration Study • $3 Million + over 5 Years • Leads to Cost Share on Design (50/50) and Construction (65/35) • Appropriate First Year Funding ($450,000) • ACOE CAP Projects (proposed) • Shoreline Restoration @ Narrows • Windsor Ditch Stream Restoration • Brown’s Cove Environmental Dredging
Funding??? • Stormwater Utility Enterprise Fund • Need approval from City Council • 3 cents per day over 3 years • Cost Sharing with ACOE • Searching for State and Federal Grants
