The Big Idea • The world takes notice when Christians revolve their world around God. • The world takes notice when Christians revolve their messed up world around their gracious, great, and good God.
Praise God Because He Is Gracious: 146:1-5 “Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save” (Psalm 146:1-5).

The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked” (Psalm 147:7-9).
Praise God Because He Is Good: 146:7-9 • Psalm 34:17-18: “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” • Psalm 56:8: “God collects our tears in a bottle and records them in his scroll.”
Praise God Because He Is Good: 146:7-9 • Psalm 72:12-14: “For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence.”
