What is diabetes and why do you get it? • Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high or low blood sugar. • Diabetes occurs when your body is unable to properly use and store glucose because you may lack insulin.
How is diabetes treated? • A detector is a tool you can use to detect your sugar. • If you have type 1 diabetes than you need insulin. It helps you properly use and store glucose. • Another thing that you need to treat yourself is going to a doctor regularly. • You will most likely have diabetes for the rest of your life.
Symptoms • Excess thirst • Blurry vision • Frequent urination • Hunger • Dramatic weight loss • Irritability • Tingling or numbing in hands or feet • Frequent skin, bladder, and gum infections • Wounds that don't heal • Extreme unexplained fatigue
