NetPlan: Naming Convention for Preconditions and Effects • Example: J11 plan and the Main Planning Conference (MPC) for Steadfast Pinnacle • Note: I’m talking about the MPC in June 2013 for Steadfast Pinnacle • Suppose one requirement for this is 2 people from J3 • Sometimes this is written “J3x2”, but in NetPlan we would write “J3(2)” • Problem: Some other action in this plan might also need 2 people from J3 • How does NetPlan know which action is which? • Solution: Use a naming convention that clearly identifies which action by making the precondition name unique • One way: • Use a short, unique name for the exercise: “Spinn” • Can’t be “SP” because another exercise is Steadfast Pyramid (Spyr) • Use a short name for the conference: “MPC” • Identify which year (because there’s an MPC each year): “13” • All together: “SpinnMPC13J3(2)” …. Admittedly a mouthful • HOWEVER, J11’s is just one subplan for NSHQ, SO preface all with: “J11” • All together: “J11SpinnMPC13J3(2)” • Whatever naming convention you choose, please preface your method with your J-code… if you do that, then you can use your own convention
