  4. The aim of NAW: to get a better insight in current energy consumption and energy related problems and priorities.Participants: community head, households, local entrepreneurs (± 50 participants)

  5. NAW comprise the following items: • Explanation of the CASINDO project and objectives of the work shop • Explanation of energy issues; types of energy, different energy options, energy costs • Assessment of current energy sources: what form of energy is currently used for domestic activities, community services and small businesses

  6. NAW comprise the following items: • What are the energy priorities ? Discuss and develop list of energy priorities • What are the energy-related business opportunities in the village • Possible interventions that address the identified energy priorities

  7. Result of NAW: Energy Priorities inDesa Akar-akar: • Priority1:Electricity for lighting • Reasons: They don’t comfort with the kerosene lighting they use now because of pollution, they need to access modern energy (electricity). Beside that, sometimes it is difficult to have kerosene because of distance is quite far from the local market. • Priority 2: Gas (Biogas), source of this kind of energy is available (from Cow dung)
