What is Google Takeout?It’s a “Data Liberation Tool” • Created by an engineering team at Google called the “Data Liberation Front”. • Their goal is to make it easier for users to move their data in and out of Google products. Major Benefits: • Store copies of your information on your own computer. • If you leave Google for another product you can take your information to the new service quickly and easily.

Google “Takeout” Security Google Takeout will protect your personal information by sometimes requesting password verification even though you're already signed in.
3 Easy Steps to Using “Takeout” • Select the supported applications from which you wish to copy your files or select “Add All Services”. Takeout immediately access the selected files and begins to retrieve the information. • Click on the “Create Archive” button. • Takeout immediately begins to create a .zip files for download. • If your files are large, you can select an option to be notified via email when they are ready for download. • Once the archive files are created, they will be kept for 7 days on Google’s server to be downloaded to other devices as many times as you would like. • Click on the “Download” button. • At this point, you will probably be asked to verify your sign-on information.
