Current Event • On Saturday, February 1st, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen the Security Conference in Munich to participate in a panel discussion on Europe • Reprimanded Russia for combative rhetoric and military threats in response to NATO’s missile-defense shield in Europe. • Russia expressed their concern with the U.S and NATO’s increased missile capabilities • Feel that their interests and issues aren’t being recognized • Have threatened increasing their own military defenses, and withdrawing from the START treaty signed in 1991
