Characteristics of the Faith • The faith can be known, Titus 1:1 • Precise & correct knowledge,Col. 2:2-3 • To be established in the faith, Col. 2:6-7 • Not to be deceived by philosophy, 2:8 • Correct knowledge objections, 2 Cor. 13:5; 2 Tim. 4:2-4

Duties Toward the Faith • Stand fast in the faith, 1 Cor. 16:13; Phil. 1:27-28 • Engage and endure (like an athlete in a contest) • Working together through adversity
Duties Toward the Faith • Earnestly contend for the faith, Jude 3 • Some depart from the faith, 1 Tim. 4:1-3 (Jude 4) • Some deny the faith, 1 Tim. 5:8 • Some stray from the faith, 1 Tim. 6:10, 20-21 • Some resist the faith, 2 Tim. 3:6-9 • Satan tries to devour us, so resist “steadfast in the faith,”1 Pet. 5:8-9
