Ageing in oak barrels during 9 months. Matching food Red meats, cheeses. Tasting note Garnet-red colour. Intense nose with ripe red fruits lightly woody. In the mouth, fresh & rich, mellowed tannins with great intensity. Supple and unctuous finale. CHÂTEAU MACQUINAOC ST GEORGES ST-ÉMILIONVintage 2008 With less than 200 ha, AOC Saint George of Saint Emilion is the smallest appellation from the ones close to Saint Emilion appellation. Château Macquin was created by Albert Macquin, first agronomic engineer to plant again after the philloxera. It is a 31 ha vineyard, mainly merlot planted, giving strong wines, generous, almost as famous as Saint Emilion wines.
