Grades Matter Maintain a strong GPA. Remember, no “D’s” or “F’s” grades in college preparatory A-G courses. Previous Years UC have rescinded students because of grades. Example: UC Merced 250 students. Your Senior Year COUNTS!

You Need To Apply Broadly • Dream School (s)- Maybe a reach but have potential. • Target School (s) – Your grades, test scores etc.. Make you competitive for admission. • Fall Back School (s) Your grades, test scores etc.. Are above the average admissions. *Remember Backup is somewhere you still want to go too. • Lastly, very important to apply broadly because UC and CSU will place you on a wait listand there is no guarantee of getting into the school.

Need counselor to fill out information: G.P.A., Rank (please give your counselor two weeks notice) Check to see the college you are applying to has supplement pages in addition to the common application. * In your packet is a fact sheet can give to who ever needs to write your letter of recommendations.
Transcript Requests Please do not send transcripts to UC or CSU schools until they request for them. See your counselor if you need a transcript before January in order to apply to a private school or a scholarship
MAP Program • Qualify: Met A-G requirements with 3.0 G.P.A, minimum of 98% attendance over 4 years, have 100 hours of community service or school activities. • Counselor’s will identify students and let Cal State San Marcos know. • EOP for CSU application only opens up once the student has submitted an admission application to the campus.
Want More Help With Filling Out Your Application? • Attend the Counseling ABC College Application every Thursday , starting Oct 3rd-Nov. 21st from 2:45pm to 4:30pm in the College & Career Center. • Ms. Guerra will also be available on Wednesday & Thursdays in College & Career Center during class time. • Must have Teacher/Parent permission to miss class.
