  5. What is an adjective? • Word used to modify a noun or pronoun. • Answers the questions…. • What kind? • Which one? or Which ones? • How much? or How many?

  6. Articles • 2 types • Indefinite • refer to a member of a general group • A and AN A is used before a word beginning with a consonant sound. AN is used before a word beginning with a vowel sound.

  8. Difference between a NOUN and ADJECTIVE. • Noun=person, place, thing, or idea. • Example: The fly buzzed around my head furiously. Adjective=word or word group that modifies a noun or pronoun. -Example: The band was so fly last night.

  11. Comparative Adjectives • Comparative adjectives compare two things, people, or places. Frequently, the word than accompanies the comparative but not always.

  12. Superlative Adjectives • A superlative adjective compares three or more nouns. This takes the comparison of nouns to the highest degree.
