Expert Reading Groups • Read your excerpt from Life of Pi. • Ch. 16 – Hinduism • Ch. 17 – Christianity • Ch. 18-20 – Islam As you read, look for textual evidence of: • Characteristics of that religion (beliefs, symbols, rituals, figures, etc.) • How the narrator feels about the religion • Discuss your findings with your expert group. Be sure that everyone in your group has a clear understanding of the religion from what you have read.

Diverse Religious Trios 1. Form a trio with one expert from each religion: • Hinduism • Christianity • Islam 2. Share out your findings with your group. 3. Create a Venn Diagram that demonstrates the similarities and differences between the three religions. WHEN DONE: Answer the following question in your journal. What do you think might happen when believers of these 3 religions all meet? Will they get along? Why or why not? Use evidence from the reading and your chart to support your answer.
