  4. SOL Testing • Dates to follow • Support as you can during testing • Let ME know as soon as YOU know about hot dates for you • Let your admins know to work around you • Wireless situation – doc from CH on wiki

VGLA • Dates for scoring: May 13- 31 • Location: Arthur Ashe • Lunch on your own – 1 hour only • 750 total books: HSS/ Sc/ Read/Wr • JN & DR: April Mtg • May 15 – regular meeting expected • May 16, 17 small # at AA • May 20 – 24, May 28-31 – larger # • Final submit: June 3rd; no 50% this year • Colleen will be helping

  6. End of Year Dates • June 14 – last day students • June 17 last day teachers • June 18, 19 furlough days • June 20, 21, 22 10 months folks work • June 24 10 months folks last day • June 27 SS training • July 1 – August 1 Summer school

  8. Concerning Google Drive • Still one more round of principals to be trained • Google Drive still blocked to outside world • KG has made the decision alone to keep it that way • Taken to Maria already: writing a document to take to VO clarifying issues created by that decision

  9. Our Goals 1. Provide ACTIVE SUPPORT for the following online resources for each school you serve:

Provide support for the mobile carts to your 3-5 teachers by: • sharing with them grade appropriate keyboarding activities • providing creative writing activities at the 5th grade level for students in preparation for upcoming online testing • as testing dates near, adding online review sites to resources you provide • sharing strategies for best practices on utilization of classroom carts

  11. Our Goals 3. Have conversations in the next week with your administrators, lead teachers, and classroom teachers and find out where support is most needed in your school. What area is weakest? How can you personally provide support? Email pgardner@richmond.k12.va.us no later than February 28th with that information.

  12. Not helpful…. • Lower grades – reading comprehension • Math, science and language arts support • Need help everywhere • I will be doing all the following….

  13. What I wanted to hear…. My principal says our 3rd grade math scores are really, really poor and…. My HSS dept needs help. 6th grade scores are OK, but 7th and 8th need.. I met with grade level teams and weakest areas are K-2 LA and 5th Science. STILL want answers!

  14. Our Goals 4. Support in the creation/population of a SOL Support Wiki site that will be comprised of individual pages for each SOL content area/grade tested and will be readily available for use by all RPS teachers Today’s project and ongoing thru June…
